Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse Opens in Stamford October 22

October 6, 2022, Stamford, Connecticut - Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse, Connecticut’s only authentic Churrascaria or Brazilian Steakhouse located at Stamford Town Center, 280 Tresser Blvd. in Stamford has announced a Grand Opening on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. The new restaurant will occupy the former space of the Cheesecake Factory in the heart of downtown Stamford. This prime location is easily accessible with plenty of parking. A special introductory price for lunch and dinner will run through the end of October.

Chef Alceu Pressi

Alceu Pressi was born in Alprestre, a small town in Rio Grande do Sul, the birthplace of churrasco and Brazilian Gaucho culture. Like many in Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil's southernmost state), Alceu shares his love for food, wine, and a warm Chimarrao which is a traditional hot beverage made from Matte tea leaves.

Alceu started early on in his path working for one of Brazil's largest food packers as a butcher's apprentice.
Refining his skills he decided to learn how to cook and prepare Churrasco.

Alceu started as a Gaucho Chef in 1998 in a prominent Churrascaria Brazilian Steakhouse in Sao Paulo. During this time the Gaucho style of cooking and serving was booming across Brazil's metropolitan areas.

Working his way into the kitchen and refining his skills Alceu was invited to be part of a team that would later start the spread of the Gaucho cuisine and culture to the US. In the year 2000 he started working in Dallas in one of the first Churrascarias in the US.
Mr. Pressi has held most positions in the restaurant from Kitchen assistant to Head Gaucho Chef and General manager. He has gained many accolades from his peers and co-workers. In 2019 Alceu received General Manager of the year at a national chain of Churrascarias where he was one of 50 nominees.

In 2016 Alceu completed an introductory Sommelier course from the Court of Masters Sommelier, Americas, and received a level one Sommelier certificate.
